review 1: Clementine receives a nurse's outfit and first-aid kit for her birthday. She's happy to bandage her family members up, but her little brother refuses her service until there's a real emergency. Nurse Clementine to the rescue! She uses quick thinking to help her brother out of a tree and gives him an extra special superhero bandage for the scrape on his arm. Watercolor and ink illustrations remind me of Quentin Blake's work, fabulous! I loved the two page spread with all of the tools of the trade. This is a great read for PreK-2.
review 2: For a time when I was a child, I wanted to be a nurse. I even possessed a candy striper uniform (which is what a hospital volunteer wore in the late 1960s) which I proudly wore...as a costume. But, alas, my interest in the med... moreical field waned with my inability to master the sciences. But I can certainly relate to Nurse Clementine who desperately wants to give aid and assistance to insured members of her family. less
