review 1: Un libro carino, utile a scacciare i pensieri. L'ho trovato, però, pieno di stereotipi e di scene di sesso che non mi sono piaciute (per gusto personale non amo particolarmente i dettagli anatomici, né quel fastidioso spiegare le azioni dell'atto sessuale. Privo di poesia) Cominciato nel migliore dei modi, si è poi "Harmonyzzato" rendendo la storia molto semplicistica. Affascinanti le ambientazioni e i costumi del tempo, ottime le descrizioni, e dialoghi molto veloci e scorrevoli. Ma che l'autrice sia stata paragonata a Jane Austen, mi pare un tantino azzardato, almeno leggendo questo suo secondo libro.
review 2: If you want to read something light, without having to think and reflect so much, this is a great book. Sometimes it feels a bit extravagant and cl... moreiché, but I have to admit that I think it's about time to expand the Swedish literature set during mediaeval times. There are a few books about life in the middle ages, "The road to Jerusalem" by Jan Guillou, for example, but they're not many.This reminds me of "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon, especially the characters. It's a fascinating time, and I really like to read about it. Therefor, perhaps, I would have liked the book to be more rich on a number of levels. However, it's still a good read. less
