review 1: So well written, Siobhan Dowd really gets into the mind of a troubled teenage girl. I felt her journey was a bit stretched out and I was a bit more interested in her interactions with friends, family etc but the writing itself was so good that I didn' tmind. I love that is was a road trip novel for teenagers and how it evokes Jane Eyre at every turn. I will deifnitely recommend this to more curious readers at the school I work in.
review 2: An adventurous story of a girl running away from her past and trying to find her mother in the big land of England. It was interesting to be in the mind of a girl who has gone in and out of foster care her whole life and is trying to piece together what happened to her and her mother when she was a child. I would recommen... mored this book to anyone who is interested in English life and an on-the-road story. less
