review 1: I read this because I'd read A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness, who took the story idea for that book from this author and also raved about her. I had read one other by her, but wanted to do another and I just loved the title of this when I read that she renames herself Solace when she takes off from her foster home. It's a journey of self-discovery, remembering painful truths, and then, moving on. It's beautifully written and I loved the reader's Irish accent!
