review 1: My 2 year old granddaughter received this book as her book of the month from the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Very cute idea behind the subject. However I did give it 3 stars for that. But it just didn't 'flow' like I would have liked. But my granddaughter giggled at places. A little boy sits on his couch wanting to read his book. But a Tiger is behind the couch and under the couch and beside the couch making various noises and irritates the boy. Until he looks over his shoulder and gets interested in the book and then curls up with the boy for the boy to be able to read to him. review 2: This book is about a boy that desperately tries to read his book on the couch. But every time he begins to read the Tiger behind the couch stops him. Either the Tiger is ... moreplaying with a train or is blowing a whistle. It is not until the boy reads to the Tiger that he finishes his book in peace. This shows students the value of reading. They will discover that when one reads it makes people around them pay attention and want to know what they are reading. This could cause students to practice their reading aloud skills as well as their listening skills. less
