review 1: I actually loved this book, I have read many reviews to the contrary but I couldn't disagree more. I loved Marc in all 3 books but have struggled with Sophia in the past 2 but I loved her in this book. I thought her father acted like a selfish child, not wanting to give his blessing, and then putting conditions on this blessing just because of what happened to him. The only reason Sophia even cared about his blessing was because of her mother's belief that a father should give the blessing before a marriage can happen. When Sophia goes home a day early and finds her family home in shambles and no supplies for the little boy I think to myself wow her father is so self centered, sinking into a depression even though he has a small child to take care of. I think Sophia is a ... morewonderful daughter, and I can't get over how she steps in and takes over everything, this alone should show her father how independent she is, sometimes I think he put those stipulations on their engagement just to keep Sophia with him so he was not alone. I love reading about Marc and Sophia going shopping together, talking about Christmas, then reading about how they spent Christmas with everyone up until the point that her father ruined it, then my heart broke. I was happy to read how upset Sophia was about her father's condition and even though she could not go against him I was glad that she showed her unhappiness and she showed how much it hurt her over the next 3 months, that is why I still say I can't get over how selfish her father is. I love how Marc is, how he tries to make her feel better, how he is barely holding on he misses her so much, and he loves her so much. I love how Sophia is helping Marc's sister and what happens with that storyline. I do not like Leo, I felt he was constantly trying to interfere or get between Marc and Sophia, during the whole time away period he was always there, showing up at her home, being too close, then he did the final thing and I thought that is crap, if that had been a woman that had done that to Marc Sophia would have fallen apart but not Marc he believed Sophia and stood by her, and was only angry with Leo. The action and drama in this book was great, wow some pretty sick people and what a turn Cecile took. I loved reading when it all came together for them in the end and once they were settled, it was beautiful, I kinda wish it had not ended quite the way it did because it left us guessing, was she???? but oh well it was still a perfect ending.
review 2: ***REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS***Okay, I'm satisfied with Marc and Sophia's happy ending. However, I didn't like the fact that they were apart for the majority of the book and the reasoning behind their seperation was unjustified. Because of their forced seperation, I found some of the steamy scenes to be kinda corny. They reminded me of this really awful B-movie I watched where the girl had tied herself up and stuck a vibrator between her legs. HILARIOUS (because she fell off the bed)! I couldn't get that stupid movie out of my mind and found myself laughing instead of connecting with what was supposed to be an incredibly intimate moment. I think I'm just used to these characters and wanted to see their story through to the end and that's why I stuck in there. Sophia really irritated me for not sticking up for herself, and then coming across all fragile and incredibly needy. Marc, on the other hand, was just crazy protective throughout and we've grown to love his possesiveness so he gets a pass. Sophia's dad pushed his situation onto Marc and Sophia and came across as a major douche! I mean really, the whole, "I'm suffering so you should suffer with me" angle just really pissed me off. What a selfish a-hole! Okay...I liked it, but I didn't love it. You should read it for closure, but be warned: SOME SERIOUS EYE ROLLING AND THE NEED TO REACH THROUGH THE PAGES TO SLAP A CHARACTER OR TWO WILL OVERWHELM YOU! less

"Bound by Ivy" is the final installment in the "Devoted" trilogy by J. Lerman/S. Quinn. My expectations were, sadly, not fully met with the end of the series. I love it when a series ties whatever loose ends need to be tied and give a great send-off to the characters that readers have grown to love. While there were loose ends that were tied and There were moments that I found myself sighing in disbelief and frustration at the nonsensical choices that Sophia Rose was making throughout most of the book. The idiotic limitations that her father put on her relationship with Marc just so he would give his blessing. I mean, come on. She was being treated like a child because she allowed herself to be put in that situation. She's an adult and yet she was spending most of her time in the novel trying to please everyone else. She also has serious self-image issues and you would have thought that by the third novel, she would have gotten over majority of them. There were several typographical and grammatical errors in the book but the story was still somewhat strong and interesting (especially with the addition of more suspense, thanks to PAIN). The characters remained memorable but Marc remains my favorite among them. ^.^ I'm giving "Bound by Ivy" three out of five stars but the entire series gets an overall rating of four out of five from me. ^.^

Loved the suspense in the ending of the trilogy. Loved the ending. Loved interaction. Fell in love with Marc more. I knew they would be trouble. Her dad, WTH? Sad to see the end of that trilogy, will miss Marc and Sophia. Only minus point in when I was reading it was the Diaper bit it is a UK person using British language. So i would have preferred it to have been nappies. It was my only complaint.
