review 1: The Girl Who Never Was really surprised me. I don’t know what I was expecting, but it wasn’t the thrill ride I was sent on. The world building in this book is so different and whimsical. The world of fairies, wizards, ogres, and travelers was so magical that I just fell into the story. I haven’t read a lot of books about fairies, but it was awesome to see the differences of these magical creatures from other books. Along with the awesome world, we also have amazing characters. As the book unfolds, we are slowly acquainted with Selkie and her mysterious past. Selkie is someone that I can easily relate to because she is curious and she doesn’t sit around when something could be done about a problem. Honestly, she is someone that everyone can relate too. Then we have... more Ben. Ahh Ben. He is wrapped in a mystery much like Selkie’s past, but he is someone that you cannot help but love. He is so protective of Selkie, and the sparks flying between them keep you coming back for more to see what happens between them. I was so caught up in their relationship that I didn’t see that ending coming. That ending had me clutching my heart and begging for the sequel! This story truly was a rollercoaster ride. Once we got started on Selkie’s hunt for the truth of her origin then the action doesn’t stop until the end. I was taken on a journey full of magic, mystery, and passion, and I was hooked. I stayed up until 3 AM reading this book because I was so caught up in it. Everything from Selkie and Ben’s relationship to Selkie’s murderous mother had me biting my nails. This is an epic story that is sure to satisfy you fantasy and paranormal lovers out there. I loved it and it and I think you will too.
review 2: That was a delightful reading! The story is full of mysteries and twists, keeping in mind that there're still too much to be revealed! I liked the way the writter, brought Unseelie, Seelie, magical creatures, wizards... all together in the story! It's very creative! Ben and Selkie are so passionate! I loved their sweet romance! I'm curious to read the sequel, because I'm sure more we will learn about the prophesy that surrounds Selkie and Ben. I had fun reading it. less
