review 1: Inspirational memoir for young creative types. Probably best received by women in their 20s, but lessons learned can apply to all walks of life if you're open-minded. Written by Sophia Amoruso, creator and CEO of Nasty Gal, a lifestyle and fashion shopping site. Her path was definitely non-traditional and therefore she has some interesting experiences and viewpoints. Yes, it is another book that reads like a blog (which I'm personally tired of). I would like to see something for people with longer attention spans. Book is also punctuated by first-person sidebars of other women who made their mark.
review 2: I thought this book was going to be more of a memoir about the authors background and how she founded the company. It focused on those areas in very small d... moreoses, and instead she gives out very elementary advice that would be better suited for someone just graduating college. Like giving out resume tips and cover letter tips. Her background sounds so interesting it's a shame she really didn't delve deeper. Instead it's written like she had a ghost writer and a very junior one at that. Too shallow to be meaningful. less
