review 1: This book is so sugary sweet that it might make readers diabetic. The story is about a chef and his plus-sized friend since high school. The story started out okay for me, but then it began to drag once they returned from Tuscany. By the time I reached the ending, I just wanted to find some fresh fruit and vegetables because I had my fill of reading about chocolate, caramel, coconut cream pie, etc.
review 2: I am in lust with Bobby Flay. And Bobby Deen. It’s not the name, though I never really noticed the similarity….it’s a shit-hot man who can cook. Bryce Ryder (love the name!) IS shit-hot. And he CAN cook….so he’s starting this book with major brownie points. Then he opens his mouth…and whoosh. His brownie points fly out the window. He’... mores a manwhore (OF COURSE) and doesn’t trust women (of course) and his best friend in in love with him and has been forever, but he doesn’t see her (of course).Our heroine is the girl next door. She’s beautiful and womanly and smart and kind and she wants Bryce. His big mouth has gotten him in trouble and he’s in jeopardy of losing his empire and the funding for the new restaurants he’s planning to open. Jenna offers her assistance to help clean up his image. One thing leads to another, misunderstandings caused by meddlesome siblings and unadulterated stupidity bred by distrust on Bryce’s part arise, leading to a heartbreaking blow up and an inevitable conclusion.The sex in this book is hella hot. Bryce is crazy skilled in the bedroom. There’s a voyeur scene in the book that is a one-handed wonder, FOR SURE.I’m a typical woman—the redeemed bad boy (especially the one that licks the chocolate dessert HE MADE off of me) is a sure-fire panty dropper. less
