review 1: Wow!!! What a fantastic read. I thought I liked this first book in the series but this one really upped the bar. Rhys and Bronwnn's story of love was filled with so much emotion. I was rooting for them from the very beginning, I just couldn't figure out how they were to overcome their differences. But as the saying goes love prevails and it's course can't be altered. Keir and Rowan where also in this book and my heart ached for them. It's so obvious how much Keir loves Rowan and Rowan having to overcome her demons. But things aren't the happily ever after for these two. Can't say anymore, you'll have to read the book for yourself.I'm sure there's a book three in the works, just based on the ending of this book. I'm convinced that it will be about Keir and some of the decis... moreions he makes because of his desperation and his love of Rowan.Great read folks...You've got to get this book...you'll love it.It's easy to follow, flowing with a heat factor of 5 out 5 flames.Highly recommend.
review 2: When I read the first installment in this series I was excited to read more, but this book may have cured me of this excitement. I don't know if others will agree with me but I think this second installment contained too much information for just the SECOND book of what will probably be a long series. In this story we see the coming together of Rhys MacDonald, the mortal nephew of the King of the Sidhe and Bronwenn, the goddess of sex and fertility. Eventhough he is forbidden to enter Annwyn, Rhys is determined to become one of the nine warriors destined to help his uncle Bran save the Annwyn for the Dark Mage that wishes to cast it into darkness. He has never been to Annwyn but he dreams of Bronwenn, a young goddess who has never been outside of Annwyn and has been secluded by the Supreme Goddess who cursed his great grandfather. In the previous novel, Bran fell in love with the healer, Mairi who was prophesied to help the nine warriors, but they still needed to find the oracle and the nephilim. In this book, both the nephilim, the oracle and supposedly mysterious Destroyer shall both be identified. I think this was the author's first mistake, too much is revealed in one book, too much happens. I feel that this book should have focused on Rhys' part in the prophecy and indentified the origins of the oracle. But nooooo!!! Instead we see the death of one of our favorite characters, the destruction of one we had met before, the return of a long lost sibling, the revelations regarding the identity of the Dark Mage, and the persons behind the need for the prophecy and much much more. I don't want to reveal too much but, I'll give you a hint.... it felt like I was reading something out of the last season of SUPERNATURAL or the mini-series FALLEN.Don't get me wrong I am still intrigued to see how the story plays out but so much of the mystery is revealed in this novel that much of the excitement for me is gone. It also did not help that this book had too much sex scenes and too little romance, the first book was much better. less
