review 1: I was disappointed in this story. It was shallow and repetitive. I read the review on Willow Point (the second book in this series) and that sounds pretty good, so I thought I better start at the beginning of the series. Harbour Falls is rated quite a bit lower than the sequel, Willow Point, so I am hoping I agree with the general consensus and also find the second book much better than the first. I had this little mystery figured out before I'd read chapter 4 or 5. The romance side of the story was aggravating and immature. It was more like a junior high drama (other than the sex scenes obviously, which had me rolling my eyes too). The writing was pretty repetitive, as were some of the scenes. It could have been 50 pages less and been better for it. I'll blame th... moree editor for that. All that said, I'm giving it 2 stars because it was 'okay' and I am willing to give the second book a chance. I certainly hope the writing is better.
review 2: Maddy a murder mystery novelist decides she wants to try her had at a true murder mystery so she moves back near her home town and begins her investigation into a disappearance that happened 4 years ago. Soon she is involved with the #1 suspect Adam Ward. Adam Ward, sexy millionaire (need I say more?) is very protective of his secrets. The closer Adam and Maddy become, Maddy finds herself in more and more danger. This book keeps you on the edge trying to figure out who is to blame and why. I'm looking forward to the next book, as Maddy finds herself in a new or continued investigation. less
