review 1: Picked this book up randomly. Had never read her before and had not even heard of her and honestly, did not expect it to be as good as it turned out to be. Many have compared this with The 50 shades but it is nothing like 50 shades...even remotely. In fact, to me this book makes 50 shades look trashy.(Sorry Ms James. Though I did read and enjoy them). What I mean to say is..if today, given a choice to pick between Ms James and Ms Kundu, without a pause, I would pick Ms Kundu. The reason being, intelligent writing apart, her protagonist is a strong woman.Shes bold enough to explore the myriad aspects of a woman's life. Agreed, this book may offend some readers sensibilities but if read keeping judgements aside, you are bound to enjoy it.I specially loved the acknowledgement. ... moreIt helped me to believe in the story making it seem all the more real.I recommend every woman to read this book...and every man if you may.:)while I go looking for rest of her books
review 2: I had trusted the publisher more than the author this time and I have returned rather disappointed. The plot is clear by the book's description, which somehow mounts the reader's curiosity and eagerness to explore. But with due course and half the pages turned, things seem to repeat themselves, starting to sound stale. I would have loved it had it just been about a woman finding her lost self with time, actions and fate but here, all possibilities, dimensions and worth of a woman's self have rather been limited to what she can do with her body. I guess the author had limited the scope of her imagination when she sat down to write about this fictitious character, Mira. Not to forget how she makes things gross by adding a sibling love fling. less
