Just One Song
review 1: Just One Song. Before I start writing this review, I have to say that a review and the way you pick up the things in books, is fully influenced by your current mood. I picked this novel because I felt the need to read something positive, cute and endearing which make me still have a bit of hope that these stories can happen in real life.Anyway, enough with my emotional blabbering: Just One Song, is a beautiful novel about accepting your past and having the bravery to move forward, facing the present even though it scares you like nothing else. After a tragic incident Nicole is left a widow, no husband, no son. Only a long period of grieving, but then one night it all changes when her friend Mia dares her and as she is, she never has backed down from a dare since she was thi... morerteen.Nicole is a real character, meaning you know her emotions are not fake – sure, there was a time when she got on my nerves a teeny tiny bit because she would not accept what was right in front of her face … to give her credit, I think I would not have been able to do that either, hence no blame there.Zack. Oh boy,… he is the ultimate cute guy. Seriously. Good-looking, rockstar and an immense gentleman, I really liked him as he accepted Nic just like she was, no cover-ups, no nothing. He is interested in her past, wanting to know every little detail of hers. All the other guys in the band, except Ethan, were equally cool – Mia was a really good friend too, never once backing down or pressuring her best friend to things she didnt want to do.If you hate instant-love-relationships, then quickly turn the other way around, even if you are missing out a lovely romance by doing thus. I liked it, there were indeed cheesy things in it, but when is there not? When cant you predict the ending or have at least some idea where it will all lead? In the end, there will always be at least ONE couple in a book, which is the beauty of it in my eyes. My point exactly. However cheesy it was, when you are not feeling well or have had a bad day, gave hope up or just want to get lost, then you might find a liking in this. No promises though. Cheers.
review 2: I loved this book. I have been reading some books recently that are just filled with drama and angst. so refreshing to read this one. .. and I got a happy ending too!!! I loved the characters. Zack of course is perfect!! my heart broke when we learned about nicole's past. and how they basically saved each other. I'm pretty sure I got this as a freebie and I'm so happy. such a great find this was. his bandmates were all awesome as was mia. I loved the epilogue and almost wished there was more! im looking forward to book 2. of course I can't wait to read about chase and mia's story but I'm also secretly hoping to read more about this wonderful couple in it as well!!! less
