review 1: Mixed impressions of this book. I got very tired of the lead female's inner angst. Incredibly poor copy editing - it was clearly run through a spell checker instead of a human, given the number of homonym errors. And yet, at about the 3/4 point, I found myself emotionally involved in the story will past my usual sentiment. I believe this author has a good bit of room to improve, but I believe she has a lot of innate potential. I look forward to reading what she puts out 5 years from now.

... more created, our purpose in life, or even if someone loved us? To Protect & Serve, without being the least bit preachy, teaches a powerful lesson about love, loss, and why we all need to "get out of the boat" and trust Him who is worthy of our trust. At a time when I'm having some of those same doubts and ask a lot of "why?" questions, Stallings' novel put my thoughts where they need to be and served as a well-needed reminder of faith and where I need to place my trust. I've already downloaded the remainder of the books in this series believing they will be as good as this one was. less
