review 1: This is one of the most pragmatic book on time management I've read. I guess there's a reason they call it a "Pragmatic Bookshelf" book. It's presented in a storybook format, one-page-per-topic, with a picture at the top. This made it very easy to read, and digest in very small bite-size pieces. The technique itself is so simple that it hardly seems necessary to write 130 some pages about it. Here, I'll give it to you in two short paragraphs.Make a list of stuff you want to do, pick one, set a timer for 25 minutes, do that one thing, take a break, pick another one, and start again. At the end of the day, write down some notes about how it went, like number of interruptions, number of cycles completed, etc.The idea is, don't overwhelm yourself with big projects. Split them up... more, tackle them in stints, and take plenty of short breaks. Take longer breaks a few times a day. This is just the way the brain works best. It needs time away from a problem occasionally to best process the information it's working on.But you don't need to read a whole book to do this. Just do it.
review 2: It was okay. I didn't feel the illustrations added anything to the content of the book. Much of the content was just bits of information about how the break works, or some study, or whatnot. Really, not very useful and not very new. Basically just rehashed the technique and some aspects of using it with teams and some modifications to it. Not a bad book, I was just expecting more from it. I don't find the pomodoro technique very compelling. It's not encompassing enough for my needs, as it seems, at least to me, that it's not designed to handle structured work (projects and repetition), rather loose lists of context-less tasks. I already have quite a robust system in place, and at best, the pomodoro technique could be used to manage my daily work within my existing task management system. But, for what it offers, I have a stopwatch on my phone and time estimates for all my work anyways. Really nothing to add here, at least for me. less

Great way to keep focus, eliminate the cost of context switching and actually achieve more in a day.
