review 1: I liked the story, what there was of it.What I don't like is what should be a complete novel broken up into pieces. If I want cliff-hangers, I can watch soap operas. I can only see two reasons for doing such a thing, you don't have the talent to accomplish more than a few scenes and can't tie it all together, or you want to milk your readers for all the cash you can.Either way, when there are so many good writers and good books, shenanigans like this turn me off.
review 2: Uh ok. I'm giving this 1 star but it should have gotten 4.I have some major issues with this book. When the book ended, I was very much all WTF because it left waaaay too much unresolved. This was supposed to be Taylor's book I think? So why was there so little Taylor in it? Now, I LOVE ... morewell-rounded books that have strong supporting characters with good plots of their own, but it seems like Taylor got a token mention with none of his issues being resolved in any way. Is there something going on with James? What's going on with Taylor's home life? How was he treated at school when he came back from recovering? That wasn't covered at all!The basic issue is that this was released as it's own book, but what it really should be is the first 1/3 of the book because there are a TON of chapters missing that detail what's happening with the various characters at this point in time. But I don't think this is going to happen. I think the next book is going to be Andy's, so we really don't get that much resolved.It's like the author stopped after only writing 1/3 of the story and decided that was enough to publish it. The ending was very abrupt and jarring.And the worst part is that up until then, this was a 4 star book! less
