review 1: I think its kinda short story, because the Melmanon character is not develop well...The way he change from ruthless to someway gentle is kinda too fast. But because Stephanie Snow make Melmanon himself confuse then I think its okay. And the way how war tribe official easily accept Charity, who that time a torture slave, as Melmanon mate is kinda...off too. But well, after all I enjoy the story and since its short I can read it on my free time :)
review 2: This book reminded me of Kitty Thomas' "The Auction". Melmanon (the demon) is large (all over) and burnt red and hotter than human body temperature which I think is why it reminds me of the auction so much since the character descriptions are similar. However this book is definitely on the mild side for BDSM b... moreooks. The books starts out strong with Charity being Melmanon's captive so definitely had the slave theme going. There was one whipping scene and then the rest of the book Melmanon loose his strong alpha BDSM maleness and the book then turns into a sweet romance with him trying to be the sweet tender lover to replace all others in her mind. And that's where my interest started to wain. Be prepared for a few hot steamy scenes and then gradually replaced with sweet romance. Overall good storyline but not the smoking hot BDSM that I was looking for. less
