review 1: The second book in the series, this novel follows developments after Nathan has regained his memory. He is trying to help out a friend while seeking revenge for events in his past. The world established in these novels offers a mix of mythologies and its own set of magical rules. These books are violent and bloody, in the vein of the Joe Pitt series (Charlie Huston). The main character is a super hero type finding ways to overcome every increasingly complicated challenge (and getting a little more beaten and bruised each time). It will be interesting to see where the third book takes Nathan.
review 2: Really enjoying this series and the character. No annoying characters, and sometimes I catch myself laughing and the situation the main character gets in to... more. He's also got a very dry wit, that just makes you chuckle. Its also good the way, the character flips back and forth to past incidents. Its also nice to find out how Tommy, who appeared in the flash back from the 1st book is doing and the changes in his life. less
