review 1: I'm not sure how I feel about this book. Ray was a bit of a drama queen who needed to be brought down a peg or two. He talked about how he didn't want to push Zeke and all he did, through out the whole book was push the poor guy. He pushed him to met Luke, he pushed him to move and he pushed him to see his father. Ray was kind of an ass.There was also a hell of a lot of cussing for a bunch of people who claim to be religious. I know Noah said it's because sex is supposed to be dirty and nasty but their use of language went beyond the bedroom. Not that I mind cussing cause I'm like a sailor who went into trucking, but the way they talked just didn't meet the religious image they were trying to put out.
review 2: This third book in the series finally gets to the ... moreunderlying trigger of Pastor Jackson's crusade against the Lost Cow ranch. There is more heartbreak and angst in this book than the first three, but it is still a story of love, acceptance and family. The relationship between Noah's assistant Ray and Zeke is a minefield that has the potential to affect everyone around them, but Ray is determined to make Zeke a part of their community. Zeke has issues that would bring anyone to their knees, and watching him conquer them with the help of Ray and those on the ranch was very satisfying.Pap's Boy starts right after Complete Faith ends and nicely continues the stories of the couples and characters from the previous two books. Sue Brown nicely handles the issues without becoming overly religious or preachy. One of the better installments in the series. less
