review 1: Fates for Apate by Sue London is a 2014 Graythorn publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.BOOK BLURB:She was sent to the Congress of Vienna with one simple mission. Observe and report on the Prussian delegation. Reading the first few chapters had me a little confused on exactly where we were as to the order of events, since the last book left with Sabre about to marry and George showing up for the wedding a little worse for wear. All will be explained as the story takes us through the events that lead to George's rather dramatic return home. The story takes us back to the beginning of George's adventure in Vienna when she is given her first assignment as a spy by Robert. She was so excited to finally get an assignment but soon found herself in a real tight spot when she falls in love with Casimir. The readers will find this part of the story simply dreamy. However, the return home for Sabre's wedding gives them both a hard lesson in reality. Now the truth will have to come out and once the confessions start they just keep on coming until all the air is cleared. I really liked George and Casimir's story . At first he believed she was married, but can't stop himself from falling in love with her. The dialogue between the two was delightful and sharp, Casimir being the perfect person to counter balance George's sarcasm. I think I may have fallen a little bit in love with him myself. George and Casimir will both find peace when they are able to finally release the secrets of their past and move forward without those dark clouds handing over them. The trio of Haberdashers are finally in the same place at the same time and all three are married. Each had a rocky start to happiness and there are more issues to deal with in the future as we will hopefully get a story about Sabre's brother, Robert. The author wrapped up the triology on a high note . This one is 4 stars.
review 2: I have read all of the Haberdashers books including the tweens. I have adored them all but this one, not so much. I loved the first two thirds when George and Casimir were in Vienna but once they were in London, it made me squirm. I wanted to hit Jack and Saber. And my sympathy for George dimmed considerably. But Ms London's men were still true to character, wonderful, sexy, etc! If this is the first you have read by Ms London, run, don't walk to start at the beginning with Jack's story! less
