Interesujaca i zabawna, slodko-gorzka. Goraco polecam.
review 2: I picked this book up at an airport during a recent trip to Ireland and Englan
... mored. The title just spoke to me.After all, who hasn't fantasized about jumping into bed and pulling the covers over our heads for... well... not exactly a year.. but a nice long time! (Ok, that could be just me, never mind!) Sue Townsend is a wonderful writer who usually combines pathos and humour in her novels. Unfortunately, while this book is funny at times, I found it to be over-simplistic with characters that just didn't resonate for me (some of them are quite amusing, I will say that). Our heroine's decision to stay in bed becomes weirder and weirder, to the point where one realizes this woman has a serious mental illness. The ending feels abrupt and didn't leave me feeling satisfied. All in all, for this reader, probably the best thing about the book is it's catchy title. less
