review 1: In the conclusion of Mona Lisa's story, we have her taken to Netherhell via a blackness that falls upon her while she is Basking. In Netherhell, Mona Louisa's essence in her is much stronger, enough so that they are able to shift back in forth between them, body and mind alike. Together, they try and find a way out of Netherhell, and realize that although they are very different in personality, together they make a good team.I very much wanted there to be another book after this one, as the author leaves it wide open for her to explore Mona Lisa's new faith in life. Also, I felt the story of her and Halcyon and Gryphon just kind of ended. I would have liked to have seen that side of the story develop more.
review 2: This book literally has it all. I was amaze... mored at how Sunny managed to surprise me at every twist and turn of the pages. It was non stop action, passion, and hot romance. Mona Lisa, a mixed blood monere queen who has the ability to compell people against thier will, heal and totrure with just the palms of her hands (from the goddess's tears), call weapons to her with her mind, and recently the ability to suck out someone else's life force. Not to mention non-human speed and strength. Oh and she is immune to human diseases and heals very quickly. Queen Mona Lisa is kind and loving to her people and is very rare in the monere world (not just because she's immune to silver and the 1st mixed blood queen ever) but by the way she rules her people and doesn't take men to her bed just for her own selfish pleasure or the gifts they may give her by having sex. That's right Monere queens give power to thier men by having sex and mona lisa can share her gifts as well as inherit thiers. Queen Mona Lisa recently sucked the life force out of mona louisa who killed her first love, warrior lord gryphon and took blood from Halcyon, the High Lord of Hell and also mona lisa's lover. By doing so she became demon living. In order to cover the demon's secret Halcyon goes in to the high court in front of the council and claims mona lisa as his mate and she accepts. Mona lisa has demon essence and in her and therfore now has demon stregnth and the uncontrolable urge to drink blood. Queen Mona Lisa, High Lady of Hell is surrounded by her people basking under the moon's light when a black hand reaches down and grabs her. She is sucked into netherhell, the cursed realm. In netherhell mona lisa loses her powers and her heart is not beating. And Mona louisa has come out to play and she is strong enough to control and take over mona lisa's body in this realm. Read the book to find out what happens next. I promise this series is totally worth your time. less
