review 1: DNF at chapter 16.What happened? The first book was so so so very good, how can one book get 5 stars and the second book only get 1. Why? Why? Why? Its the same question I ask myself. The raping & killing of underage innocent girl, the killing of kittens, the beheading of girls, all in the name of drug turf war, is too dark and too heavy for me.Sorry! I enjoyed Book 1, I was thinking it will take a miracle for the author to out-do herself in book 2.....well, I was right... I am really sorry, I am not good at violence....
review 2: I'm really enjoying this series. It does not over dramatize or cliche the club life into a caricature off of television. The characters are real. They're struggles are real. And the story is well-developed. The things that Isaac and ... moreLilli endure are heartbreaking but they make their love real and enduring. You can believe that they have a connection that is not based on insta-love, lust, or any other ridiculous love at first sight BS that seems to be permeating every single book these days. I'm really looking forward to reading about Showdown and how he gets himself together. My heart bled for him in this book. He's such a good man and he's been dealt such a terrible hand. Will definitely be continuing this series. less
