review 1: In Dark Woods (Signal Bend #4.5)By: Susan Fanetti5/5 starsThis novella features Isaac and Lilli and the event in book 4, Alone on Earth, where his Horde brother, C.J., shot him in the back with a shotgun, his subsequent hospitalization, his medical coma, his paralysis and where his mind was during these dark days. For a man like Isaac, death would have been preferable because he can no longer hold his wife or daughter, move his body or ride his motorcycle. He believes that he is no longer fit to lead the Night Horde MC, because of the rules that they have to be able to and actually ride their motorcycles. Ride or die has been the motto, and he can’t ride.Isaac and Lilli had relied on themselves for strength, love and determination not only while he was in the hospital, bu... moret also when he was in the rehab center. But for everything else, they relied on the club of family and friends. Show and Shannon to help at their house and with Gia, Omen, one of the brothers helps run the library, Show has to step up as club president, and the guys step in for Isaac on the town protection detail. The road to any type of recovery is difficult, not on just the person recovering, but that person’s family, finances, friendships and relationships. It’s hard to keep the faith and keep fighting to get better, when every test comes back with negative results. This was an excellent novella and side story. I still love Lilli and Isaac the most.
review 2: I've been anticipating this novella since half way reading through Bart's story. Thank God for this novella, or else I wouldn't know how to cope. When I thought that Isaac and Lilli have finally found their peace, then shit happens again. I might just have enough! But in the meantime we also witnessed how beautiful and strong their love for each other is. They fight like any old couple and Isaac can be a total douche and child sometimes when he can't cope. But they are there for each other. I still remember how Isaac cared for Lilli during her meltdown and now is Lilli turned to be there for her man who was in the brink of giving up his life.Just prepare some Kleenex before starting this one. A must read for every Isaac and Lilli's fan. less

Not sure why this was a standalone novella - it was though - a great one.
