review 1: I'm not really sure what to say about this book, I remember liking the story, however it hasn't left this great or memorable impression on me. It's the classic tale of two people who have their prejudices about them find a common bond because of the situation they're in and end up having to work together and develop a friendship or strong bond. The story is kind of reminiscent of a Disney channel movie, if the Disney channel condoned saying the word miscarriage.The ending leaves room for a sequel. I like how the artwork complements the story, I really like Faith Erin Hick's drawing style, honestly she's the only reason I even though about reading this book. I thought it was a nice touch, as with Hick's other works, that the synopsis include panels from the story and not ju... morest a written description. However I will commend the writers Susan Kim and Laurence Klavan for making keeping the mystery alive in the story until the end. Besides Hick's artwork, that's the only reason that I would feel inclined to give this story four starts, but becasue it didn't seem to leave a memorable impression on my I gave it three.
review 2: This was okay. It was cute, but it didn't really stick with me and I don't think I'd read it again. I feel like there are better comics about camp (Lumberjanes for example), but this is fine for what it is. I am thinking about it now and everything about it, I should love, but I just don't and I don't know why. I don't hate it at least. I guess I just wasn't wild about the epilogue? That can always ruin something for me. Whatever. less
