review 1: 3.5/5Better than the first one but the imagery was still too much for me. I don't want a sex scene 3 pages long constantly telling me about the perfection of a guy's lips or cock. I get it, they love each other, the sex is good, now I'm ready to move on with the story. Am I the only one who gets irritated by that??The story itself was pretty good. I did like the art thief case Jordan was trying to solve. I felt like I got to know Sebastian and Jordan better with this book. It was also nice to see what was happening with Jack, Kevin and Bro.
review 2: It’s no secret that I love Susan Laine’s books. Not only does she write memorable characters, I love the way they relate to each other, love each other and fit each other into their lives. In Love in Plain
... more Sight, Ms. Laine continues the story of Jordan and Sebastian’s story. The blurb does an excellent job at describing what the novel is about. It’s been almost a year since Jordan and Sebastian have been together and even though things haven’t always been roses and sunshine for the couple, as time goes by, their relationship continues to grow and strengthen as their story progresses. The book is told in first person through Sebastian’s eyes. Now, I will admit this is normally not my favorite point of view in romances, but Ms. Laine does an outstanding job at making Sebastian a great narrator and since he’s such an adorable character, I loved knowing what was going on inside that beautiful mind of his and seeing how he adapts in an unforgiving, hearing world.Sebastian is deaf, but he’s definitely not a wilting flower. He’s more capable than people realize and his intelligence and zest for life makes him a memorable character. He’s fiercely protective of his makeshift family, and even more protective and supportive to his boyfriend, Jordan. They are coming up on their one year anniversary and Sebastian is extremely excited about this. But, Jordan has been wrapped up in a huge case and Sebastian finds himself putting his own excitement aside so he can do what he can to help Jordan out.Jordan is definitely more intense than Sebastian. He’s almost a workaholic, but he still does what he can to make time for Sebastian and the other important people in his life. He’s smart, sexy and such a wonderful partner for Sebastian, I absolutely loved every moment they had together in this book. There is plenty of action, suspense and romance in this book to satisfy the pickiest of readers. Also, there is a colorful array of secondary characters who are also the couples’ makeshift family, that live and breathe off of the written page as much as Jordan and Sebastian do. I’m anxiously awaiting the next book in this series and hope to read more about these wonderful characters soon. Although Love in Plain Sight could probably be read as a stand-alone book, I don’t recommend it. To fully understand the dynamics of these characters and how they came to be in each other’s lives, I recommend reading the books in series order. Believe me; after you read the first book, you won’t be sorry! Here are the Senses and Sensations books in series order:Sounds of LoveLove in Plain Sight less
