review 1: This was the third book in the Bakery Sister's series and it was my least favorite. From the start Jesse was going to have to do a lot to become a character whose perspective I could stand, and while I didn't hate her while reading this book, I didn't feel that I was truly in Jesse's perspective. In the previous two books Jesse felt like a young, immature, woman-child who felt that the world owed her something. She had a hard time seeing anything from someone else's point of view and thought she didn't do anything wrong. While I felt that these character traits worked in the first two books, it makes for a hard protagonist that is likable. Thus Jesse had almost a complete change of character in this book—so much so that it didn't really feel like the same person. M... moreatt's character was also hard to like because of his unwillingness to look beyond revenge. I felt that their response to their issues were just "you hurt me so I must hurt you" and visa versa which also made both characters feel very young and immature. Enough about my critiques of the book—some of the good aspects were that the story was entertaining and kept my interest from start to finish. This book gets 3 stars from me and overall it was an enjoyable chick-lit book.
review 2: MEINE MEINUNG:Dies ist meine erste Trilogie von dieser Autorin. Ich habe den ersten Teil "Frisch verliebt" Ende 2009 und den zweiten "Frisch verlobt" Anfang 2010 gelesen und fand diese grandios gut. Nur habe ich dann irgendwie nicht weiter gemacht, obwohl dieser dritte Teil auf meinem SuB landete als er erschienen ist. Aber in der zwischenzeit habe ich so viele andere Bücher gelesen und auch andere Genre, dass nun dieses Buch es schwer hatte. Wie gesagt, die anderen habe ich geliebt und die haben die volle Punktzahl bekommen, aber hier tat ich mich doch schwer. Es ist unterhaltsam, stelleweise lustig und auch gefühlvoll, doch mir fehlte etwas. Gerade wenn man mehr Fantasy liest, hat ein Buch wo es rein um Liebe geht, es schon nicht leicht, weil halt nicht wirklich viel passiert das einen an das Buch fesselt, deswegen habe ich auch für dieses Buch ewig gebraucht und andere Sachen gelesen. Dennoch kann ich sagen, das Buch ist schön und herzzerreißend, gerade am Ende und es hat mir auch gefallen, nur fand ich die beiden Vorgänger um einiges besser. Ich bin froh, dass ich die Trilogie endlich beendet habe und Susan Mallery werde ich auch weiterhin lesen. less
