review 1: A very short (30 seconds or less) depiction of something to get the reader's spine standing straight up and leaving a heart beat as visible as in cartoons... what happens to the narrator when he discovers all is not as he thought it would be as he takes a shortcut down an alleyway...Good work Mr. Connelly. I realise the editor wanted something quick and to the point... alas your writing usually needs a little less structured time and more development, but you did well with what you had.

... morey like the addition of comic-style stories.***Some of the stories were a little puzzling to us, so I read them out loud and the three of us figured them out. Actually, a couple of them remained puzzling to us; enigmatic. But overall, a strong recommendation from a 45-year-old, an 11-year-old, and an 8-year-old. And yes, we did particularly enjoy the Adam Rex contribution. less

This book is for kids, but there were some short stories that were pretty creepy and clever.
