review 1: As a bride to be, my mom's best friend sent both my mom and I a copy. This book is cute and Elizabeth (the bride) is a like-able, girl-crush worthy "heroine". She certainly takes over the narrative at times which left me confused by the title of the book since she also did most of the wedding planning herself. (I expected the book to more from the mother's POV.) Where the book swerves is the advice she gives. She admits she is no expert on weddings but proceeds to offer advice to brides. The book would have more memorable if she had written more humorous anecdotes about her experience, however, I think that takes more insight and maturity of an older woman than a bride coming off a wedding "high".
review 2: So, here's the thing. I did not read this because I am
... more engaged, or, for that matter, because anyone I know is engaged. I read this because I was wandering through my local library's browsing section, and I saw Susan Wigg's name. She is one of my (and my mother's) favorite romance authors, and I thought it would be fun to get a bit of a slice of her life. So, reading this was not quite what I thought, but I enjoyed it greatly. I think any daughter can related to a mother who is exasperating in her ways, but also is just proud of you and wants you to be happy. I had fun reading this, and would like it noted that you do not have to be a bride-to-be to enjoy this one! less

I loved this book. It brought back good memories of planning Sheena's wedding. You will laugh!

I am going to leave a note to myself to reread this when one of my girls gets engaged!
