review 1: This book offers an insightful perspective into the amazing ability children have to adapt to crisis. Not only is the construction of the main protagonist, Aubrey completely lovable, but her ability to continue to live despite adverse circumstance is truly inspiring. A wonderful book, that is very purposeful in teaching children about life, death and the grieving process. Despite its underlying "serious" content this book is a beautiful, easy read for children and adults alike.
review 2: when i first joined my secondary school, we were all given a free book. i chose this one because it was the only one on the list of options that appealed to me, and when i read it i fell in love. to an eleven year old girl, this book is literary genius. i think i read it about ... morefour or five times. the story is really gripping and the characters have layers. i could kind of relate to it as well, so i think that was part of the reason i loved it so much. less
