review 1: I’m giving up on this book. I’ve owned it years, but this is at least the third time I’ve tried to read it, and I just can’t get through it. It seems pretty original and the writing is actually great, but all the characters are just a complete mystery to me. They’re either flat or bizarre or flat AND bizarre. And, sorry to pile on, but “flat and bizarre” pretty much sums up the plot, too. It’s just not my kind of thing.
review 2: Ehhhhhhhhhh.Not too detailed of a review but I can't think of any other way to put it. The beginning was enjoyable, it was funny and it set up what could've been an interesting book. But no, unfortunately it didn't. The main character Jeffery's life kept spiraling downwards throughout the entire book, and I finished it ... morewaiting for something interesting to finally happen, which it never did. Kind of depressing. I wasn't a huge fan. less
