review 1: My Lord Raven: To Find Love In A DreamHave you ever had a dream at night in which you saw a beautiful strangers’ face with intense clarity? Have you then thought this could be the love of your life?Dante Burroughs is a man, who has his feet firmly planted in reality: This strikingly handsome British nobleman is not only the heir of a vast family fortune, he also managed to make more of it by running an internationally successful company, establishing him further as a pillar of the picturesque British countryside community he lives in. A community just as rich in history as Dante’s ancestry, which is shrouded by the mists of time. One thing is very clear though, and it constantly interferes with Dante’s private life: The image of an incredibly beautiful woman haunting ... morehim in his dreams. Along with his vast inheritance a portrait was passed along to him as well: The portrait of Raven’s Lady, a mysterious young woman, who fell in love with one of Dante’s ancestors, but disappeared and thus sparked a quest for her bound to last for centuries …In “My Lord Raven”, Tamela Quijas presents not only a powerfully told love story superbly interlaced with sensual dream sequences, but also the history of an influential British family. Dante finds the woman of his dreams in an unlikely place, but the quest doesn’t end there, because, as we all know, it’s never easy to turn one’s dreams into reality.
review 2: My Lord Raven has been re released by a new Publisher that has seen what I did in it when I read it originally a few years ago. Author Tamela Quijas has such extraordinary word presence the descriptions sometimes takes my breathe away… I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing some of her other writings and each of her stories are so very rich in expression and historical background. My Lord Raven is a beautiful love story of souls that belong together. As a reader you are made to feel this pull from the very beginning. We begin, in the English countryside where we hear on his deathbed that Lord Ravensmoor lost the love of his life Kaitlyn. Before he dies he confesses his feelings to his grandson that Kaitlyns soul will someday return to where it belongs. He tells him that she should have her place at Ravensmoor and she should have been the Lady of the Manor. Now his great, great grandson Dante dreams of the woman he cannot quite catch as they ride on horseback every night in his dreams. Our author takes us on a wonderful story of a forever kind of love that lasts thru time, space and dreams. Our Lord Raven is Bigger than Life. He is tall, handsome and sexy. Our Kate is sweet, shy and inexperienced. We the readers are taken on their sensual love story following their meeting. Ms Quijas is an extraordinary story teller. You are taken from past to present. The Twist is an essential part of the story and does not disappoint. I can only hope the wait for the next idea she puts pen to paper to tell us will be a short one... less

....I speak of a love that happens betwixt a man and a woman but once in a lifetime...More than two centuries had passed since the great Earl of Ravensmoor had whispered the phrase on his deathbed. The heirs of Ravensmoor, intent on honoring a dying man’s request, endure a lifelong quest to seek the soul of the love lost of their ancestor. The tale of ill-fated love taunted every one of his ancestors, and Dante Burroughs was the last of the great line. If he didn’t succeed in bringing the heart and soul of Kaitlyn home, the Ravensmoors would vanish into obscurity, lost in time.He was unaware of the hidden promises whispered in the ancient deathbed phrase, or of the dreams that would torment him when he came of age. The images of a woman and a life he did not know haunted him. She taunted him, drawing him into a gossamer web that left him unfulfilled and lost in a corrupt and modern world. He knew he had to find her, the woman capable of redeeming his cursed soul and granting him the love he sought.Across an ocean, Kathleen Bennett knew the torment. Restless and responsible, her dreams are filled with the image of blue-eyed man that whispers seductive promises to her willing heart.A time would come, when the souls of the past would collide...._______________________________________________________________________________

DNFI know my peeps are going to be surprised. This book should be straight up my alley.I really tried. It was a particular scene that sealed it. The darn thing turned into a bouquet of flowers in my hand. A big fat one with purple blooms. I started to read in funny voices in my head. I started making teasing remarks about it in my head. I started staring at the old fashioned wording and counting the adverbs. I basically had a breakdown. The end.
