review 1: Wow, either Tammi Sauer has either cranked it up a notch, or they've just paired her with a fantastic illustrator (yes, I'll say that Michael Slack's fish & shark drawings were my favorite thing about this book). Anyone who liked the sharks in 'Finding Nemo' will have an instant soft spot for Fang's character. Loved the message and illustrations both here-- and it's great to see such solid work coming from a local author.
review 2: This book is a super cute story about combating stereotypes and being friends with your friends. A minnow and a shark are best friends, but when the minnow goes to school, he learns that he shouldn’t be friends with a shark because all a shark wants to do is eat him. One day, the minnows get caught up in a net, and the shark save... mores them. Then, all of the minnows become friends with the (vegetarian) shark, and everyone lives happily ever after. This would be a great ECE read aloud book! less
