review 1: I really liked the story, dual narratives, and the whole premise of the book. However, it seemed like a chore to continue reading and finish because there was so much descriptive writing -- too much, if you ask me. I found myself skimming paragraphs for something interesting. I'd recommend the book to others, but would warn about the lengthy descriptions of (to me) stuff that wasn't important to the story.
review 2: Great story. Quite thrilling and suspenseful in spots. I found it took a long while for the story to build, so there were times when my attention drifted a bit.
