review 1: I had such high hopes for this author after reading Pure. I still do. I can appreciate an author trying to branch out with her writing style. This one just didn't do it for me. I still think her characters sound very real, but in this case, they just sounded too similar for me. Even with the different formats for each girl-one in verse the other in a journal- they both sounded too alike. I also had a hard time picturing what each girl was doing. The format was more about what they were thinking and feeling rather than a lot of action. Still, I like this author enough that I'm willing to give future books a try. review 2: I thought it was very cute and unique. The use of poems for one character and on the other hand undergrads letters and figurative language for... more the other was nice and contrasting. I favor the character of Camille, but I loved both girls and their lives clashing just because of one boy. THE ONE THING I DO NOT GET...is why in the world Alec kissed her in the first place. Was he drunk? All I get is that he was a d-bag who couldn't handle being alone for 2 weeks. I wish there was some poems or pages explaining something like him telling her...but nevertheless it was a good book less
