review 1: It was a little slow to start - like it just jumped in the middle of something and you weren't sure what, but then you got the rhythym (ha! - they are in a band!). It's interesting because the main character is a girl, mostly surrounded by boys. You don't see much of that in lit. I can identify with her, though. Once you are friends with boys it's hard to be anything more. There are some LGBT characters too, boys and girls. Though the boy is portrayed in a more positive light. The girls are kind of neurotic, maybe just trying to find their ways. But aren't we all?! The ending seemed rushed, unfortunately. It makes me want to see what else the author has written, so that's good :-)
review 2: I couldn't put the book down. I thought it was super cute and dramatic.
... more Throughout the book, Charlotte's changes in herself were big and obvious, but in a good way. She slowly changed into a person that she was comfortable with, instead of being the intrapersonal, go with the flow Charlotte she's always been. That's why she she's my favorite character, even though it seems bias to like the main character. The story was easy to read but at the same time took me a while to finish. I would recommend this story to anyone who's likes reading about the drama-filled life about a girl, even if they do only hang out with guys. less
