review 1: I enjoyed the tale of passion, faith and fear. I was a bit overwhelmed at the amount of information thrust upon me but after ingesting the first half the book and letting the thoughts and information take root I found I could not put the book down. I had to know how it all came out. The giant leap of faith that these men took was amazing. The world around them would never/could never cope with the information revealed. It would be so wonderful if this could have created peace but I suspect that the author, Terry Brennan has a great deal of human and religious insight. If you read this, keep an open mind and have faith that it will get a whole lot better! :)

... more-0-8254-2426-7Genre: Inspirational/mysteryA secret room has been discovered in the chapel of the bowery mission. And what’s hidden inside reveals a mystery of biblical proportions. Tom Bohannon is at a construction site when the workers discover a hidden room in the building they are working on. When Tom goes to investigate, he discovers a room filled with file cabinets and a safe stuffed full of documents. One of them happens to be an ancient scroll containing a dead language that has been lost in the sands of time. Tom understands that he has made a valuable discovery, but the danger that unfolds as a result of the discovery surprises and shocks him. Now, Tom and his team of ragtag scientists and historians want to decode the ancient text, but others don’t want the contents revealed. And they are prepared to kill to keep it hidden.THE SACRED CIPHER takes the reader from a market in nineteenth-century Alexandria, to a library in present-day New York, to the tunnels underneath Jerusalem. This story is very well written, and engaging, drawing the reader into this make-believe world which seems real and valid enough that it could be featured in the news. If you are interested in a book about ancient secrets and international escapades, then THE SACRED CIPHER is not a book you’ll want to miss. Much of this book is based on fact, and they are detailed in the author’s notes. 350 pages. less
