review 1: The first 6 chapters, those I managed to read before giving up, were both confusing and boring.Confusing: there's no rhyme nor story to the criminal background. As a cop you have no ground to order friends or family of a suspect to "remain" in town. Confusing: the mental path of both hero and heroine was messy. They get from A to B and you wonder: uh?Boring. I'd really like to stop reading about two people who meet for the first time, and lust overcomes reason. (My friend and acquaintances have to be pretty boring, I don't know anyone who suffers of lust...)Boring: the tone of the book sounded preachy (and we were just at the beginning). I understand this book is about God's warriors. But, please, even the Catholic Church is saying that atheist aren't the enemy, that if yo... moreu follow good, you're not damned. Overall a book that didn't interest me, so I stopped and gave it back.
review 2: This is the second book in the Paladin Warrior series by author Tes Hilaire.First, be sure to read the first book in this series before committing to this one. I had a hard time getting into this book so I had moved it to the back burner for a bit. Then I purchased the first book in the series hoping that it would help me with the second one in understanding and enjoyment of it. Reading the first book helped out so much. By the time I got to Deliver Me From Temptation I was in the swing of things and enjoying the Paladin world.Logan and Jessica were both strong characters that shined in this book. I enjoyed the plot, the story and the romance. I loved the scene from both sides of the fence where duty was concerned and when it came to the climax of the story, I was thoroughly invested in this series. I personally can't wait for the next book in this series even if I did get a late start to it! less
