review 1: I probably should have given this a higher rating but I'm still trying to process it all. It's not that I didn't like it, I really did. But at the same time, I wanted to scream at both April and Oliver! I wanted to tell them to quit being so self centered. And to just get on with it. But then again, life doesn't typically work out that simply for anyone. And the ending left me wanting way more and left me quite sad that I didn't get it. I felt like I went on this roller coaster ride with them but then I had to get off the ride before the real twists and turns happened. Good read yet a little disappointing.
review 2: This was a very dark, and almost depressing read. To say that April is flawed is an understatement, but for probably 75% of the book, it's not in
... morea likeable way. I didn't really get the romantic element between the lead characters, either. Rather, it just seemed as though Oliver wanted to save April. Sure, there was some jealousy there when he saw her with other men, but ultimately I just felt sorry for Oliver getting caught in the undertow that is April. Eh, just ok for me. less
