review 1: What a delightful and delicious book! It has one page anecdotes of several authors with the second page being a delicious cocktail recipe. I haven't tried the cocktails yet but will. Besides the anecdote, there is a sort short excerpt from the author's writing and another book recommendation. The cocktails are inspired by either the popular cocktail from the author's time or from the author's writings.The authors are both classic and contemporary. I looked up two authors, Mary Shelley and Isabel Allende. The book that she quoted from for Isabel Allende was from "Eva Luna." Mary Shelley's book was "Frankenstein." Shelly's cocktail was "Frankenstein's berry punch." I will have to make this one as the ingredients make my mouth water! However I think I will wait unt... moreil I have some friends over to sample it. Allende's cocktail is "Madrina's banana rum cocktail." Since the recipe for this is for 1 serving--guess who will be making to soon! I had a couple cocktails from the book and they are good!Even if one does not drink, the anecdotes make the book worth reading. review 2: I received this book from Goodreads First Reads and I absolutely love this book! It's an adorable little book, well put together with beautiful pictures. It's full of easy-to-fallow instructions and delightfully fun recipes. Just in case you didn't catch on from the title, the book is jammed pack full of recipes for cocktail drinks titled after famous authors and books. I can't wait to try some of these delicious drinks! This is a must-have book and I absolutely love it! less
