review 1: This is a pretty good book. Ellie Barlow who was a child actor is now broke and just trying to get enough money to be able to go back in school. Her life has not been easy, she grew up on a tv show set and her mother who should have been saving the money for Ellie took it all and used it. They went to court over it but in the end her mother spent every penny then came crawling back to Ellie when she finds she has cancer. She then died and Ellie had nothing. She puts an advertisement on Craigslist to see if there are any acting jobs. She's hired by a group of girls that are in college and they want to get her to break the heart of the guy that had sex with them and then "dumped" them. Julian is the guy that they want to be hurt like they feel they were hurt. Julian is gorge... moreous but there is more than meets the eye. He's in college and he's 23 years old. But his life is anything but normal or great. His parents were murdered and he was the one to find them. This book is worth reading.
review 2: ***ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review***I was really, really excited to digest this one...but I felt less than satisfied. The blurb showed so much promise and it didn't really deliver. The plot was so flimsy and unfulfilled that I desperately wanted to fill in what seemed to be so many blanks in the progression. I felt that this could have benefited greatly with a lot more beefing up. The whole thing just came together in a rush with little emotional development between interactions. Julian is just damaged...too damaged it seems in some places to ever recover completely but he does...Ellie is damaged too, but hers wasn't explored either...don't get me started about the gaggle of teen girls that started the whole thing...if you invite a guy to do the nasty, don't be hurt when he does it with you with little or no lasting emotion...sheesh...too much angst and not enough thinking... less
