review 1: Cahill has done it again. I have read several of his "hinges of history" books, and they are well written and humorous. this one starts with the Black Death in Europe (the Plague) and then runs through the Reformation and Renaissance periods. Cahill is a master at showing you why we are what we are based on historical events. As a practicing Catholic, it was extremely interesting to me to read about the Reformation period.
