review 1: Why would I bother to finish a mystery about a self absorbed cynical professor in a southern college who has an epiphany that life is wonderful and should be spent serving others? Whose narcissistic manipulative wife puts him in a terrible bind? So well written I found it as smooth as gelato, just not as satisfying, I was hoping 21st century literature was beyond neurosis and guilt. Maybe I'm becoming self absorbed and cynical. Hope not.
review 2: One of the best books I've read in a long time! This one has so many elements that I enjoy in a book -- courtroom drama, legal thriller, interesting characters, small college town setting, and a good ending that I did not anticipate. But it also offered something else that I wasn't expecting....a tale of self-exa
... moremination. What kind of a person have you become? How did you get there? And how can we change our path if we don't like the end result? This is the first book I've read of this author but I do plan to read more of his work. I highly recommend this one! less
