review 1: Il filone del romanzo storico non si può esaurire. Può, tuttavia, trovare nuove applicazioni. review 2: Mallon definitely did his research, and so should the reader if he or she wants to be able to follow the byzantine twists of the Watergate saga that are mentioned (but not really explained) here. Mallon doesn't give much of a feel of the texture of the period, but he does a first-rate job of bringing to life the characters whose thoughts and conversatio
... morens drive the story, particularly Fred LaRue, the Nixons, Elliot Richardson (though Mallon is far from fair!), Howard Hughes, and especially Alice Roosevelt Longworth. less
