review 1: My children enjoyed having this book read to them. It was easy to sympathize with the main character as we experienced with him the confusion and frustration of being thrown into a world he knows nothing about. By the end of the book we were enthusiastically rooting for these young characters who were desperately trying to discover and fight against the dark forces that seek to conquer their world.
review 2: My daughter gave me book one and two. It took me a while to catch on to the the different world type names and group titles but by the end of book one I'm now ready to jump into book two! Fun read about a 14 year old boy and his adventures outside of his normal life, the life and places his adored Grandfather lived in. I also enjoyed the discussion quest
... moreions at the end of book one. Would be great for any middle school child to read and discuss with a parent. less
