review 1: Tim's second book is another grand slam! In his first, (Voyage of a Viking) we learned who Tim is as a "fellow traveler" on the narrow path. He shared transparently his journey up 'til now and how his relationships with many shaped him into the Leader of men and women he had become. In Confidence of a Champion, Tim shares the anecdotes that shaped him and how he has learned and grown from them. I hope to use this book, reading it often, marking, highlighting and putting into practice the self assurance I need to become the man my friends and family need me to be.
review 2: This book has so many tidbits to help a person know their worth. He has great humor. It is not a one time read. I will read it again. I am taught to argue with the author when I don't agree ... morewith something and there are two things I want to address. On page 206 he refers to spanking with love. To me those two words shouldn't be in the same sentence. I know Proverbs references beating with the rod. My opinion is the rod references "the word of God." No one can get too much of that beat into them (of course with love). Also, on page 224 he references forgiveness is an obligation. In the scriptures (2 Cor 2:10 and Mark 11:25-26) it pretty much states we are required to forgive because if we don't we won't be forgiven. Now for those who don't believe in Christ then it wouldn't matter except for what is stated in the book. less
