review 1: This is a really great Urban Fantasy/ Time Travel book. O'Rouke has managed to create a heroine that is both easy to empathise with and you want to root for. Though I have read this after book 2, it by no means detracted from my enjoyment and if anything made me enjoy it more. O'Rouke has managed once again to take historical incidents and weave them into a really gripping supernatural tale. Definetly one of my "must Read" authors
review 2: I'd give it 15 stars if I could... Ok, can I say WOW!!? This book kept me intrigued from the first few pages until the last few words I couldn't read fast enough and every time I had to put the book down, I wanted to die, specially since these days I had tons of things to do and therefore, less time to read. Sammy is complet... moreely lovable, the gang of her "friends" is unpredictable and completely endearing. Zoe is a sweet teen who can be as fierce as a wolf while Louise is a Tigress. The preacher is mysterious and yet friendly, almost like a bat and Harry...well... he's a big Rottweiler who will start fierce and mean looking and end up lying on his back begging for you to scratch his belly. Even Drake can have his own appeal at times. I loved travelling back in time and solving the mystery with Sammy, specially such an old cold case. I absolutely loved this book, the story was original, the characters were well defined, in a way that you ended up feeling friendship and affection for them, the descriptions were vivid, I swear there were moments I was on that train, or even riding Moon. It took longer for me to read, but it was so well worth it I'll probably re-read it soon. less
