review 1: I have given this read a 4 stars. Tinnean is new to me and her spy vs spook series is the first of her writing that I have read. I don't normally read books that are told from 2 different points of view but yet the same. After I got used to that this series was easy to fall back on. I have been reading m/m genre for awhile now and I have gotten quite picky about my reading. I don't just read any author of this genre, but on a splurge on decided to read Tinnean's series Spy Vs Spook, and I haven't regretted it yet. This story is the sequel to Houseboat on the Nile and Not My Spook should be read after that if you want a better rundown on the MC and their jobs, etc. I have read the series myself and found that the series is quite good. If you enjoy mystery, spys/spooks an... mored beautiful gay men getting it on...that is all I am going to say. Well, with one exception-Tinnean keep up the good work...
review 2: This was okay. The repetitions of the same scenes from two POV-s were much fewer, thankfully. But the book still reads like a script..it's weird, really. All disjointed, like the author wrote and published this chapter by chapter, and that's why in each chapter there are reminders of the known facts over and over. I still like Vincent and Mann, but the writing throws me off and prevents from fully connecting with the story.p.s. So, I checked and found out this was an online fic once upon a time..Dreamspinners should have done a better job editing this book. less
