review 1: Bleach was definitely very interesting to read and different to what I usually read. I enjoyed the whole soul reaper concept and how we find out more and more about the main character as the story goes on.It's a fast read and is easy to understand but gets progressively more difficult to follow parts of the story due to there being so many different characters that can be qualified as important in the progression of the story.I would recommend it for the story line and the graphics but I do feel like there are a certain amount of plot holes or at least not detailed out enough parts. I give the series 3 stars, the beginning possibly deserving 4 stars and slowly falling to 3 stars.
review 2: If you like comic books, you will most likely enjoy this series. Bleach
... morewas interesting- it was easy to pick up the plot (I started with volume 25 since this was all my library had that was available) and a quick read. You read from the back, and from right to left, so it took me a few pages to get used to this. It is about a boy named Ichigo that can see ghosts and fights them to win souls back. In this volume, he is fighting Sinji and her gang of Visoreds. They know how to control inner Hollows, which is what Ichigo wants to understand as it will make him stronger and better able to protect innocent people. What he finds out is that he must fight his own Hollow to control it. Toward the end (and out of the blue) a General comes to tell Ichigo and his friends that their town is about to be taken over by Aizen. If he succeeds, then 100,000 souls of the town will be taken over and their existence erased. However, they can't find Ichigo to tell him so they can prepare for the battle.I did not enjoy this book, but I also don't like comic books. It is action packed and has alot of fighting, so I can see where kids, particularly boys, would like it. You also have to be careful and make sure you read all the text in every box, as the conversations can be difficult to follow and one word might begin in one text box and end in a different one. There was also something odd between the chapters. A page that was almost blank, except for one small cartoon drawn with text that never made sense to me and seemed irrelevant to the story. I never figured out what their point was. less
