review 1: Based in Hazard, Perry County, Kentucky where I have family. I was born and raised about 20 miles from here and many familiar places are mentioned in this book but it's the characters and people I love the most in these novels. She writes about a strong and loving people without the stereotypes we've come to expect from movies and tv about Appalachia. She did throw in something unusual in making the main character a shapeshifter but it doesn't take away from the story at all. She is not afraid to throw in a tragic twist in her books that cause some heartache for her characters but the ending is happy and leaves you feeling satisfied. At least, it did me.
review 2: I ran across this e-book and decided to give it a shot, I am glad I did , it started out a li
... morettle slow but then it picked up and I finished it in one day. A great romance ,which wasn't like typical romance novels that are mostly fantasy. The romance in this book is actually believable and goes through ups and downs and misunderstandings like typical relationships. The shocking family drama also surprised me. I liked the paranormal element also, except that I think it should have shocked the girl a bit more than it did. All in all this was a very good read and I am glad I accidentally stumbled upon it. less
